Uhuru Kenyatta was sworn-in as the new President of Kenya on 9 April 2013. He is the fourth president of Kenya. Kenyatta clinched victory in a tightly fought race for Kenya's presidency on 9 March 2013 against Raila Odinga.
It is very important to note that Uhuru Kenyatta along with his deputy William Ruto are controversial figures as they are wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of crimes against humanity from alleged role in the country's 2007-2008 election.

The party of Kenya, The National Alliance (Kenya) (TNA) formed alliance with United Republican Party (URP) of William Ruto, National Rainbow Coalition party of Charity Ngilu and Republican Congress Party (RCP) of Najib Balala. This coalition was called Jubilee Alliance coalition.
Jubilee Alliance coalition nominated Uhuru for presidential race against Raila Odinga. Uhuru Kenyatta needed over 50 percent of the national vote to avoid a run-off. He received 50.07 percent in the election and became the President of Kenya.
