Nicolas Maduro was declared the Winner of Venezuela’s Presidential Election

Nicolas Maduro was declared the winner of Venezuela's presidential election on 14 April 2013. However, the opposition refused to accept the result and demanded a recount of all the votes.
Maduro won 50.7 percent votes while his main opposition candidate managed 49.1 percent votes. Maduro was named as Hugo Chavez’s successor in his last speech to the nation before dying from cancer in March 2013. Maduro had been serving as acting president since Chavez’s death.
