CrackYourIBPS --All about IBPS

IBPS Common Written Exam (CWE) for PO has brought a paradigm shift in the recruitment process of Public Sector Banks. Now you are required to appear in a single exam to be eligible to participate in the recruitment drive for Probationary Officers of 19 nationalized banks. The Indian Banking Association (IBA) has asked IBPS to organize the CWE. State Bank of India along with its associate banks is not participating in this exercise. The first CWE for PO was conducted in 2011.
IBPS CWE PO is held twice a year. The IBPS then issue a score card to all successful candidates. This score card is valid for one year. All nationalized banks issue independent recruitment notifications for PO and they call candidates for interview on the basis of this score card. Mere getting the score card is not a guarantee that you will get interview call.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

IBPS has declared a formula for Minimum Qualifying Marks. Only those candidates who have crossed this ‘minimum barrier’ will get the score card.

Linear Conversion Method is used to convert the score of all candidates (after proper factoring with negative marks, if any) into a standardized score. Each candidate will have to cross a minimum standardized score to be eligible for participation in the recruitment process of any banks – to be eligible to get a score card. The formula for the calculation of cut off is as follows:

Average – ¼ standard deviation for General Category

Average – ¾ standard deviation for Reserved Category
